Aamir Khan will not be acting in director Vishal Bhardwaj ’s movie ‘Mr Mehta and Ms Singh’.
Just a few months back, media was abuzz with reports of Aamir and Kareena Kapoor pairing together for the Maqbool director’s movie ‘Mr Mehta and Ms Singh’ that traces the lives of two individuals over a period of thirty years.
But now, Bhardwaj himself has told a news agency that Aamir will not be a part of his movie.
“Aamir will not be acting in Mr Mehta and Ms Singh,” Bhardwaj told the agency.
He is presently in Goa at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) for the premiere of his movie ‘The Blue Umbrella’ which is a celluloid adaptation of a Ruskin Bond story. The film stars Pankaj Kapur in the lead.
About ‘Mr Mehta and Ms Singh’, Bhardwaj says he plans to start shooting the movie in the latter half of 2006.
Bhardwaj’s next project would be based on Shakespeare’s ‘Othello’. The movie will star Ajay Devgan and Kareena Kapoor in the lead. Presumably, Devgan would play Othello, while Kareena would play Desdemona.
Previous reports had it that Vivek Oberoi was signed to play Cassius in the movie. But the latest buzz is that Saif Ali Khan might play the role.
Meanwhile, Aamir is presently busy with Kunal Kohli’s project Fanaah. Aamir’s next release would be Rakesh Mehra’s Rang De Basanti .
