Singer Daler Mehndi is in trouble again. Seems the world ‘problem’ has become anonymous with the king of Bhangra. Last time he was alleged with his brother Shamser Singh Mehndi for the immigration racket. This time he is under the eye of Delhi Police with accusations against him for music piracy and for violating the trademark rights of music company Magnasound India Ltd. An FIR has been registered against him by the police. Along with him there are thirteen others involved in the case against whom reports have been filed.
The reports were registered against the pop singer on the order of Metropolitan Magistrate Digvinay Singh after Magnasound Director V M Saxena launched the complaint. The complainant confirmed that Daler Mehndi along with his other sub ordinates have been selling in an unlawful manner the audio and video music albums through their websites which were under the company’s copyright. V M Saxena also said that on November 19 raids had already been conducted in Daler Mehndi’s place and he himself has been part of the raiding party. After the raid he had signed the seizure report. Police is yet to confirm the news of the raid.
V M Saxena had also formerly filed a civil case in the Delhi High court against Mehndi and others for this act and the case is still in progress. He filed the complaint for the second time after Daler didn’t give up the unscrupulous act and continued the breach.
