Dharmendra and his children — Bobby, Esha and Aahana, are all set to launch a hospitality hub on the sixth floor of Fun Republic theatre, Andheri. The restaurant will be run by Bobby Deol, under Dharmendra’s guidance.

A family friend of the Deols, Sunil Hingorani, told us, “Work started on this grand project five months ago.� Called Some Place Else, the eatery will open to the public on December 10, and will have two restaurants, offering Indian and Chinese cuisine.

Suhana and Zion

The Indian restaurant has been christened Suhana — Flavours of India, while the Chinese restaurant has been named Zion. A special driveway leads to a private entrance, with elevators that lead to the sixth floor. To get to the Indian and Chinese restaurants, one will have to cross a sky-bridge, with a breathtaking view. Parking is available for over 500 cars.

Special chefs have been flown down from China and Singapore and pressed into duty at the restaurants.

There are also chefs from Lucknow, Hyderabad and Punjab for the Indian restaurant, and Dharmendra has personally selected the Punjabi dishes.

According to a director at the site, where work is nearing completion, “Dharamji is a foodie. He loves to eat good food, and has been in touch over the phone with Pakistani chefs, to source the original recipe of Lahori kadhi.�

Authentic Chinese

Adds the site director, “The Chinese cuisine will be divided into two types — Indianised Chinese fare, plus authentic Chinese food, chosen from provinces in China. People don’t get good Chinese food in Mumbai these days — we will change that. We are not here just for the ambience. People will be licking their fingers when they dine at Some Place Else.�
