Aamir Khan’s arbitrary selection of guests for his shaadi has left the film industry confused. Many people who considered Aamir a friend have been left out of the guest list.

Many of his heroines, and even the Lagaan (the actor’s home production) gang, have been given the miss. But the most shocking exclusion is that of Shabana Azmi and husband Javed Akhtar.

Baba Azmi invited

Shabana has always supported and his talent, and has been open about her fondness for the actor. Javed and Shabana have known Aamir for decades, so their elimination comes as a surprise.

Especially because Shabana’s brother Baba, and his wife Tanvi, have received their invitations. Baba and Aamir worked together in many films, while Tanvi and Aamir worked together in Akele Hum Akele Tum.

Deliberate slight

According to a source, “The omission of the Akhtars is not an oversight; it is deliberate. Shabana didn’t approve of the way Aamir behaved towards his first wife, Reena, and has voiced her opinion. Perhaps this got back to Aamir, and he decided to leave them out of his close circle of friends.�

Farhan will go

What’s stranger is that while Javed Akhtar has been left out, son Farhan has been invited for Aamir’s big day, and will attend the wedding.
