Aishwarya and Abhishek are here in Chennai for the shooting of ‘Guru’ and in the free time, the two have visited the Cancer Institute at Adyar a couple of days back and spent time with the cancer patients

Mani Ratnam is one of the trustees of the foundation in memory of late music composer Mahesh. The foundation provides medical assistance to cancer patients. At one of the recent ‘Crorepathi’ quiz conducted by Amitabh Bachchan, Ajay Devagan and Kajol won a crore and donated it to the foundation.

Apart from spending time with the cancer patients, Aishwarya and Abhishek are reported to have opened a children’s ward. When film people involve themselves in social work, the awareness created in society is that much more.

Usually, visitors take flowers to greet the patients and chocolates for young patients. Perhaps Aish and Abhishek are not aware of this…because they went empty handed!
