Aishwarya Rai suffered a minor injury on her right hand while rehearsing a scene for Mani Ratnam’s movie Guru on Friday.

Ash, Abhishek Bachchan , Mani Ratnam and the movie’s crew have been shooting ‘Guru’ near Bagalkote in north Karnataka from early this week.


On Friday, while rehearsing for a scene in which she rides a bicycle, the actress crashed into a signpost on the roadside after her skirt got entangled in the cycle’s chain.

According to Bagalkote superintendent of police (SP) B A Padmanayana: “Rai suffered a minor injury on her right hand.�

Agency reports have it that Rai was rushed to a local hospital in the town, about 500 km from Bangalore, for treatment and was discharged within an hour with her right hand bandaged. She was advised a day’s rest.

The movie’s shooting is likely to resume on Saturday.

The crew is expected to continue shooting in the district town for over a week more, which also involves a song-and-dance scene on a moving train.
