The charming and the age-defying Baghban couple of Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini returns in Ravi Chopra’s Baabul along with John Abraham, Salman Khan and Rani Mukherjee.

Bachchan plays the good patriarch - a loving husband to Hema Malini, a faithful friend to son Salman Khan and a doting father rather than father-in-law to Rani Mukherjee.

Salman and Rani are the blissfully married couple, happily settled in matrimony in a world populated by indulgent parents, doting friends and lots of celebrations.

All’s well till Salman makes a tragic exit, making way for John Abraham, a young musician who had given up his hopes for winning over Rani’s love after she chose Salman.

As Bachchan seeks to unite John and his widowed daughter-in-law in holy matrimony, his family and friends veto his efforts. But as the tagline goes, he breaks all relationships to make one.
Projected as a film that backs the cause of widow remarriage, Baabul also has music director Aadesh Srivatava using Bachchan’s baritone for two tracks in the film.
