Amitabh Bachchan starrer Family - Ties Of Blood is slated to hit the theatres in the coming week.

Much is expected from this Rajkumar Santoshi film that stars Amitabh in the role of a cigar-smoking gangster. Another strongpoint of the movie is Akshay Kumar whose movie Waqt – A Race Against Time with Amitabh in 2005 turned out to be a box-office success.

Adding to curiosity is the introduction in the film of the newcomer Aryeman , a handsome young man with a raw intensity.

The film tells the story of two families. Amitabh plays the authoritarian head of the Sahai family. Actor Sushant Singh plays his spoilt son.

Akshay plays the elder son of Bhatia family. Aryeman plays his younger brother.

Things take a turn for the worse one fateful day and put the two families on a collision course.

‘Family’ is scheduled to release on January 12, although there have been some reports that the film might get postponed because some dubbing work involving Mr. Bachchan still remains to be done.

If ‘Family’ does release in the coming week, it would get stiff competition from Sanjay Gupta’s Zinda that has Sanjay Dutt , John Abraham , Celina Jaitley and Lara Dutta . The movie tells the story of a man who is forcibly held captive for many years.
