It’s a season of remakes in Bollywood and the new avtaar of the 1980’s hit Qurbani is also on the anvil. Actor Fardeen Khan is slated to replace father Feroz in this new version of the original hit.
A glamorous star cast, an outstanding soundtrack and a gripping plot made Qurbani a cut above the rest.
Hit tracks like Aap Jaisa Koi, Laila o Laila and Qurbani and riveting performances by its stars ensured that this action-thriller was a success at the box office and tagged as a classic.
So will this remake simply cash in on the old glory or is there more to its new story?
“Classics never die. The structure is same but the characters are enhanced,â€? Feroz said.
While Feroz is eager to get behind the camera, Fardeen is gearing himself to be in front of it and literally get into his father’s shoes. “They are big shoes to step into. But more challenging the job, the more exciting it is,â€? Fardeen said.
The original film’s music was undoubtedly one of its key features. Incidentally, Fardeen was present for the shooting of these hit songs. But then, he was just a star son and not a star himself.
“I used to be on sets when those songs were shot. Then it was boring but now I feel nostalgic,” Fardeen said.
With Feroz in the director’s chair Qurbani’s sequel like its predecessor promises to be a stylish, fast-paced and gripping action-drama.
