“Hang me if I’m guilty,” said Salman Khan to a court in Jodhpur on Thursday while pleading for early disposal of the Chinkara poaching cases of 1998 against him.

“Main pareshan ho gaya hoon. Mujhe phansi par chada do agar doshi hoon to aur mukadme ka phaisla jaldi se kar do” (I am disturbed. Hang me if I am guilty but decide the case at the earliest), he appealed to Chief Judicial Magistrate BK Jain, according to Public Prosecutor Jeevan Ram Choudhary.

Choudhary said the Bollywood star made the appeal to judge after recording his statement, along with 5 others, in the case relating to poaching of Chinkara in Ghoda farms on October 11, 1998.

Salman’s plea was not in the court records as he “made the gesture after recording the statement in the form of a request”, Choudhary said.

Salman’s counsel Hastimal Sarswat informed that the actor stated before the judge that he was innocent and was being “falsely implicated in the poaching cases”.

The CJM’s court also began the final arguments in the case pertaining to Chinkara poaching in Bhavad on the same day and actor-comedian Satish Shah was present during the hearing, which lasted about 4 1/2 hours, he said
