Controversy and Bollywood stars are no strangers. Bollywood beauties have always been in trouble for endorsing sleaze, gyrate gestures and for ‘polluting the minds of young people’. The most recent ones to face the wrath were Rakhi Sawant and Shilpa Shetty. We take a sneak-peak at some of the Bollywood incidences which had set-off the moral brigade.
Belly Trouble for the Belle

A Madurai court has issued non-bailable warrant against Shilpa Shetty in connection with the publication of her ‘obscene’ pictures in a Tamil magazine, Tamil Marasu. But Shilpa Shetty doesn’t think they are obscene. “If navel-showing is obscenity, then our traditional Indian outfit - the traditional sari - too should be banned,” she says.
Sleepless in Kolhapur

Rakhi Sawant, the girl from a middle-class Maharashtrian family who left her town to make it big in Mumbai. And big she did, but more with the women activists. She has been booked in an obscenity case for her gestures and skimpy costume at a stage show in Kolhapur district of Maharashtra. A case under Sections 110, 112 and 170 of the Bombay Police Act had been registered against her for indecent behaviour and gestures.
Innocence Lost

Known as the Miss Barely-There-Skirt, Deepal Shaw was accused of robbing innocence off the school girls. Deepal continued made her Bollywood debut with another controversial movie, Kalyug.
Thorny Indeed

Shefali Zariwala started the generation of nubile young things in music videos. After her thong-song ‘Kaanta Laga’ Shefali became popular as Miss-Look-At-My-Thongs. But then she also faced the wrath of women activists.
