The time has come to hitch a ride aboard the ‘Kabul Express’, as the film hits the silver screen today and has generated interest with a potent star combination of Bollywood heart throb John Abraham and the king of near-perfect comic timing Arshad Warsi.
Directed by first timer Kabir Khan, the film is set in a turbulent post 9/11 Afghanistan and has been extensively shot in that country. The story spans 48 hours and depicts the lives of five individuals linked by hate and fear and brought together by fate.
John Abraham and Arshad Warsi play two Indian television journalists who come to Afghanistan in order to get an up-close-and-personal interview with a Talibani.
Backed by the Yashraj banner and dealing with an intriguing theme, the formula does sure have potential - but does it pack the punch it promises? We’ll soon find out.
