Munnabhai and Circuit are back, this time in a new avatar.
Lage Raho Munnabhai promises to be even more rib-tickling and heart-warming than Munnabhai MBBS.
According to Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Lage Raho Munnabhai is not a sequel, but another episode in the life of Munna and Circuit and their encounter with the truth.
“I think Sanjay and I gel very well. Sanju is a fantastic person, a great actor and full of confidence. He has no complexes and is very down to earth, said Arshad Warsi.
Stepping into the shoes of Gracy Singh is Vidya Balan who plays Jahnvi, the radio jockey Munna has lost his heart to, even before he could set his eyes on her.
For Vidya, Lage Raho is an important film, as she ventures out into comedy for the first time.
“Like Munnabhai MBBS, this film is entertaining too, but its not just the entertainment value, it also spreads the message of truth without wanting to intellectualize in a light hearted way. Raju Hirani and Vidhu Vinod Chopra have tried to make a true film and I am sure it will touch chords, said Balan.
Sanjay Dutt plays the philosophical Bhai, Arshad Warsi is the hilarious and touchingly loyal Circuit, and Boman Irani is a rich builder whose Gurdaspur roots are very much evident in his lingo.
The battle between Lucky Singh and his nemesis Munna has all the ingredients of a laughathon but the twist in the tale comes when Munnabhai comes face-to face with Mahatma Gandhi.
So hold on till September, because that’s when Munna and Circuit will be all set to give you a jadu ki jhappi, as the film hits the theatre.
