Contrary to elaborate newspaper reports of the gala preparation for Abhishek Bachchan’s wedding on the February 19 — including the hotel bookings, limousines, designer wear et al, the truth is that Bachchan Jr will be shooting that day.

There is no Bachchan-Rai shaadi next month and on February 19, the actor will be in Bikaner facing the camera and ranting his lines for good friend Goldie Behl’s Drona.


Spoilsport shooting

Says producer Shrishti Arya, “Abhishek is going to be shooting with us on February 19 in Bikaner. So he’s surely not getting married on that day.”

We hear that the actor will be canning vital sequences during that period that include a few stunts. Informs a crewmember, “The scenes that we are shooting at that point is very vital to the plot. Abhishek had given us the dates last year itself. If he had marriage on his mind he would have never given us the dates.”

In fact, on the D-day Abhishek will be nowhere near Ms Rai. He will with his co-stars Priyanka Chopra, Kay Kay Menon and other crewmembers of Drona. As for Aishwarya Rai, she will be shooting for Ashutosh Gowariker’s Jodha Akbar at Karjat.

A close friend of the actress further reveals, “As per my knowledge, Aishwarya won’t have any respite from her set of work. For the last two months, she was in Jaipur and now when Abhishek is heading there, she’s going to be in Karjat. Jodha Akbar’s an extremely important film and they’re going to wrap it up only in April.”
