You just can’t miss it — the sparkling ring that Ash flaunted when she hugged pa-in-law-to-be Amitabh Bachchan outside Lilavati Hospital.

The newly engaged couple went to the hospital along with Big B to seek blessings of the ailing Teji Bachchan.

Sources say that Tina Ambani, a close friend of the Bachchans, selected the solitaire on behalf of the Bachchans from a jewellery store in Breach Candy.

Apparently, Tina visited the store just days before the engagement and told the staff that she was buying the diamond ring “for someone else”.

The size apart, the price is quite a whopper too. A jeweller pegs the ring at over Rs 50 lakh.

Says a source close to the Bachchans, “Everyone in the Bachchan family knew that the engagement would happen in the first month of 2007, so the ring was obviously decided upon a while ago.

The engagement was imminent and the Bachchans were only waiting for the perfect time to make a declaration. Guru’s release couldn’t have been more perfectly timed.”
