Onlookers gather on the road decorated with lights, leading towards Bollywood star Aishwarya Rai’s apartment on the eve of her wedding on April 19, 2007. The wedding celebrations of kicked off with a pre-marriage party on Wednesday.

Traditional Indian drummers arrive at the residence of Aishwarya Rai for the mehendi ceremony on Thursday. The celebrations will culminate with the couple’s wedding on Friday, a union that many say will create Bollywood’s ultimate power couple.

Decorative lights illuminate the facade of La Mer, the building where Aishwarya Rai resides, on the eve of her wedding. Abhishek’s sister Shweta Nanda and Goldie Behl’s wife Sonali Bendre brought the mehndi to Aishwarys’s home on Thursday. The mehndi was specially ordered from Sojat in Rajasthan.

A security personnel peers out of the gates of Bachchans’ Juhu residence jalsa. Abhishek and Aishwarya have been given the equivalent of Z-category security till April 20. Each of them have been given four armed guards and told not to travel without informing the security-in-charge.
