Director Guddu Dhanoa has decided to completely revamp his cousin Sunny Deol’s image with his new film “Victory”.
Dhanoa told IANS: “My new film with Sunny which starts soon is called ‘Victory’. Sunny plays a cop. Like our earlier collaborations from ‘Ziddi’ to ‘Salakhein’ to ‘Big Brother’, it will show him as a powerful man, but there will be only one stunt sequence. That’s it. The rest of ‘Victory’ will feature the soft, sensitive and romantic side of Sunny which I feel hasn’t been tapped so far.”
“Both Sunny and I hope to change our images with the film. ‘Gadar - Ek Prem Katha’ too was a love story. But it had large doses of action. ‘Victory’ would be a surprise to Sunny’s fans. Though he plays a cop, he hardly does any stunts,” he added.
However, he cuts down all talk about doing a sequel to Anil Sharma’s historic 2001 blockbuster “Gadar - Ek Prem Katha”.
“I’ve no clue. I am doing ‘Victory’ for Zee and they’re planning a sequel to ‘Gadar’. But not with me as director.”
Sharma, who directed “Gadar - Ek Prem Katha”, is expected to do the sequel. “He’s the best man to carry the story forward,” said Dhanoa.
