Shilpa Shetty, who created a stir after winning the reality show Big Brother and bagging the Broadway musical Miss Bollywood, has suffered a setback. According to sources, producer Farhat Hussian, is now trying to rope in Lara Dutta, Priyanka Chopra or Bipasha Basu to step into Shilpa’s shoes.
According to sources, the problem is not about how the shows fared. The musical did fairly well in most places, except Germany. The problem, it seems, is that Shilpa demanded a lot of money. In fact, her mother took charge and asked for an amount three times more than what was agreed upon initially. The contract was divided into three parts and she had already taken the Rs 3 crore after the first part of the contract was fulfilled. However, for the remaining part, she demanded three times the amount. The total contract was over s 12 crore. Naturally Hussain flared up and decided to strike off for the upcoming season. Hussain is also upset as he was the one who was officially promoting her after she won Big Brother. He had also organized many shows and charity functions for Shilpa. The second run of the musical, set to begin in March, has now been pushed to September. Shilpa was unable to give dates for March because she was committed to shoot for Vijayta Films' Man.
