There is a sudden vigour in the manner in which announcements are arriving from Himesh Reshammiya’s stable. Just when one thought that between Damadamm and his next film as an actor, Khiladi 786 – Made In Punjab, there may just be a success party with Salman Khan and Rekha that would fill the year long void, there is a lot happening for the composer/singer in the world the music.
Himesh Reshammiya is planning to pull off something that could well have been termed impossible by many out there. For the success party of Damadamm, he is going all the way to personally invite Rekha to grace the event…
Himesh Reshammiya has reasons to rejoice. His Damadamm, despite arriving on bare minimum shows (2-3 a day at select multiplexes) and massive competition from Ra.One, has managed to keep its head above the water
Guess fair economics seem to have worked out for Himesh Reshammiya’s Damadamm. The producer/actor/composer/singer is confident that not just would Damadamm manage to comfortably break even at the box office, it would also end up making decent profits for all involved. Informs a close associate, “Since Damadamm is a film set in Hrishkesh Mukherjee genre, cost of production is not very high
So here he is. Himesh Reshammiya is back in front of the camera.
Cast: Himesh Reshammiya, Purbi Joshi, Sonal Sehgal Rating: Director: Swapna Waghmare
Reliance Entertainment will co-produce Dangerous Ishq along with BVG Films and DAR Motion Pictures who have earlier given us hits like Haunted 3D. Dangerous Ishq, which is directed by Vikram Bhatt will be his second stereoscopic 3D film post the success of his film Haunted 3D. It stars Karisma Kapoor, Jimmy Sheirgill, Rajniesh Duggal, Divya Dutta and Ruslaan Mumtaz
Himesh Reshammiya certainly knows when to strike hard. Now that his fun-n-peppy number ‘Umrao Jaan’ from Damadamm is picking up steam with every passing day, Himesh is dedicating the song to none other than celluloid’s original ‘Umrao Jaan’ – Rekha. Says a close associate of Himesh, “He understands that Umrao Jaan stays on to be a classic while his Damadamm is more in a Hrishikesh Mukherjee mode
EXPECTATIONS Expectations are always good from a soundtrack that bears Himesh Reshammiya stamp, especially when it has him playing the triple role of actor, composer and singer. Aap Kaa Surroor and Karzzzz boasted of hit music, Radio was pleasant to ears while Kajraare could well have been a chartbuster album had it been promoted and released well. Nevertheless with Himesh striking back after a hiatus with a film like Damadamm that promises to be more in line with quintessential light hearted entertainers, there are good hopes of something interesting in the offering
