New Delhi, May 18 : Bollywood actress Vidya Balan and Sonam Kapoor may have received a mixed reaction for their red carpet appearances at the 66th Cannes International Film Festival but world renowned fashion designer Ritu Beri feels proud about their ensemble selections.
Sonam Kapoor and Abhay Deol, who had a falling out during “Aisha”, have sorted out their differences and were cordial to each other on the sets of “Raanjhanaa”, says director Anand L. Rai.
Director Karan Malhotra, who made his debut with Dharma Productions’ “Agneepath” last year, hopes “Gippi” proves that Karan Johar’s banner can even make good quality small-budget films.
Filmmaker Prakash Jha, who is almost ready with his film “Satyagraha”, may release the film’s trailer at Jantar Mantar in the capital.
Sonam Kapoor is excited to step into Rekha’s shoes for “Khoobsurat” remake, but at the same time she is a bit scared how she would recreate the same charm and spirit of the character. “I am scared because the whole point of the film is to capture the spirit of that character because the story has been completely changed. She did it so beautifully and I hope I can do even 10 percent of what she did,” Sonam said here in an interview.
This is her third year at the Cannes International Film Festival and actress Sonam Kapoor plans to make a style statement in an Indian outfit at the red carpet there. Starting May 15, the event will see screenings of three Indian movies “Monsoon Shootout” , “Bombay Talkies” and “Dabba” . At the 11-day event India will be the guest country, while Bollywood actress Vidya Balan will join the jury panel at the 66th edition of the festival
